Professor Cullen is a Family Physician in Dublin, Ireland and Professor of Urban General Practice at the School of Medicine in University College Dublin. His research focuses on how we can best enhance primary care – and its interface with secondary care, to improve health outcomes for people who experience infectious diseases, mental health and substance use problems. He les the primary care component of ‘Hepcare Europe’ which involved the development and evaluation of an integrated model of care for patients with hepatitis C. With collaborators in Ireland’s Health Services Executive, Ireland East Hospital Group, colleagues in primary and secondary care, service user representatives and international experts, this research has realised in excess of 200 peer reviewed publications.
